Driven

As we were driving home late last evening, 30-minutes later than our usual punctual selves, the wife and I noticed how much more civilised the 6.50pm crowd is on the Thanet Way. There were lots of 'after you' headlight flashes, and 'thank you' hazard light flashes, and 'you're welcome' hazard light flashes, and even a 'no really, thank YOU' hazard light flash. It was a dramatic change from the usual BMW drivers who drive right up behind you, or the Audi drivers who cut you up, or even the VW Drivers who overtake you on the inside.

The idea of stopping for coffee and leaving later every day was even raised...

I feel compelled to defend the honour of my fellow Audi drivers and I. I only cut people up if they *really* deserve it. But most of the time I tell myself that most people can't drive, they didn't realise they'd done it, and wouldn't notice if I did anything in retaliation. Then I follow them to where they live, and return days later with a scary note for their windscreen... :-)

Oh yes, for sure. Sometimes I wonder why people are in such a rush. The other day I was confused how much of a rush you can be in on a Tuesday to overtake downhill off camber around a blind bend in the wet and dark with oil on the road. Then again I am probably confusing impatience with stupidity? Could be worse, could be the 1725 out of Victoria...
